Personal data that we process
To enable you to make use of our services, we need certain personal data from you. The following is an overview of the personal data we process:

Sensitive personal data we process
It is not our intention to collect data from website visitors below the age of 16 through our website and/or service. Unless they have the consent of a parent or guardian. However, we are not able to verify whether a visitor is over 16 years of age. We recommend that parents monitor the online activities of their children, to ensure that no data on children is collected without parental consent.
Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data
Marmitek processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- First name and surname, address, telephone number, e-mail address and bank and payment details (if a purchase is made):
- To provide you with our services and to invoice and process payments
- To process your order and inform you of the order status
- To deliver you products and/or services
- To communicate with you (including sending messages)
- Marmitek also processes personal data if we are required to do so by law, such as information required for our tax return

- To communicate with you (including sending messages or calling by phone) about providing our services and if questions arise on our products, services or apps
- To inform you about changes to our services and products
- To measure your satisfaction with our products or services through our consumer care department
- To invite you to write a product review of a Marmitek product on the Marmitek website. You can write this review under a nickname, so that we cannot trace you
- Marmitek website visit, IP address, click behaviour, details of your computer, duration and time of your visit, app use:
- To improve your personal online experience on our website or in our apps
- To tailor our communications to your wishes and preferences
- To make you a more personalised offer via Facebook or Instagram, among others
Marmitek is active on various social media channels, such as Facebook and Instagram. The following personal data on users of our Marmitek social media channels can be used or processed by Marmitek:
- Profile information, content and messages viewed and posted, and metadata that has been stored on the social media platform in question:

How long we store your personal data
Marmitek stores your personal data no longer than it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which your data were collected.
The time limit for storing the personal data below is the minimum period that is necessary to provide the service in question:
- First name and surname

- Telephone number
- E-mail address
- Bank and payment details, if a purchase is made
- The product purchased, if a purchase is made
We are obligated to store our administration, including invoice, payment and order details, for a period of seven years. This means that if you purchase a product, we will store the following data for seven years:
- First name and surname

- E-mail address
- Product purchased
We delete the information below, which could be traced back to a particular person, after 26 months:
- IP address
- Details on your activities on our website or in apps
- Click behaviour
- Details of your computer
- Time and duration of visit
When using our social media channels, the respective terms and conditions and privacy policy of the social media website in question apply:
- Profile information
- Content posted and viewed
- Metadata stored
Sharing personal data with third parties
Marmitek does not sell your personal data to third parties and only provides personal data if this is necessary to fulfil an agreement or if we are legally required to do so. In such cases, the following parties may be involved: logistical partners or distribution partners, payment partners, IT service partners and partners that collect our reviews. We make agreements with companies that process your personal data on our behalf, to ensure the same level of security and privacy of your data.Upon your request, we can provide you with the identity of such third parties. Marmitek remains responsible for the processing of your data.
Cookies or other, similar techniques we use
Marmitek makes use of functional, analytical and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. Marmitek uses cookies with a purely technical functionality. These cookies ensure that the website functions properly and that your personal settings are remembered, for example. These cookies are also used to optimise the website. We also use cookies that track your surfing behaviour, so that we can offer tailored content and advertising. When you first visit our website, we inform you about these cookies and we ask your permission to use them. You can block the use of cookies by changing your browser settings. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect data and receive reports on how visitors use Marmitek website and the effectiveness of our Google Adwords advertising. This information, including the address of your computer (IP address), is transferred to a Google server and stored by Google in the United States. Marmitek entered into a data processing agreement with Google Analytics on 7 March 2018.

Google uses the information to analyse how Marmitek website is used, to generate reports on the website for us and to provide advertisers with information on the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may share this information with third parties if Google is legally required to do so or insofar as these third parties process this information on behalf of Google. We have no influence over this.
Accessing, amending or removing data
You have the right to access, amend or remove your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data, to object to the processing of your personal data by Marmitek and to have your data transferred. This means that you may request us to send the personal data we hold in a computer file to you or to an organisation of your choice. You can send your request to access, amend, remove or transfer your personal data, to withdraw your permission or to object to the processing of your personal data, to support@marmitek.com. We may request additional information from you to verify your identity. We will respond to your request as soon as possible and within a maximum of four weeks. Marmitek would also like to inform you that you have the option to file a complaint with the local regulatory authority.
Do we make automated decisions?
Marmitek does not make decisions based on automated processes (without human intervention) on matters that may have (considerable) consequences for you. This concerns decisions made by computer programmes or computer systems without human intervention (for instance by an employee of Marmitek).
How we secure personal data
Marmitek takes the protection of your personal data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, improper disclosure and unauthorised changes.
We make use of a firewall and encryption methods to prevent access to personal data by unauthorised third parties. The user data is stored at locations that are both physically and technically secure. Only a select group of employees has access to customer data, based on their job profile. Every year, external specialists perform a security check, so we can guarantee the continued security of personal data. Also, Marmitek always uses a secure TLS/SSL connection when processing orders and sending contact forms. Furthermore, we have implemented DNSSEC technology.
