Frequently asked questions

  • What is the maximum distance between the transmitter and receiver?

Up to 20 meters LOS (line-of-sight)
  • Do drivers need to be installed on my laptop?

No, you do not need to install anything at all. The Stream S2 Pro is “plug-and-play” and works straight out of the box.
  • Does the transmitter need to be powered separately?

No, in many cases the laptop will provide sufficient power via the HDMI output to power the HDMI transmitter. If, unexpectedly, the HDMI output of your laptop does not provide enough power, but it is also equipped with a USB-C port? In that case, you can use the included USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect the HDMI transmitter to the USB-C port of your laptop. This provides sufficient power to power the transmitter, and supports video and audio transmission. If your laptop does not have a USB-C port, you can optionally power the HDMI transmitter separately using the included micro-USB cable.
  • Can I trust that my (confidential) content is streamed securely, without the risk that someone can access this content (without authorization)?

Yes. The wireless HDMI cable uses AES 128-bit encryption and WPA2/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK authentication protocol to secure wireless data transmission. The video content is also protected with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) to prevent illegal copying.
  • Can I also stream content wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet to the receiver?

Absolutely! Thanks to the built-in AirPlay and Miracast technology, you can stream content wirelessly directly from any iPhone, iPad or Android device without using an HDMI transmitter.
  • Can I install the wireless presentation system myself?

Absolutely! The wireless presentation system is “plug-and-play”, which means that you simply plug the receiver into the display or projector (and power it using the included micro-USB cable) and then plug the transmitter into the HDMI output of your laptop. You do not need to download an app or install software, the two are automatically paired and work immediately. Do you want to use extra transmitters? These still need to be paired with the receiver; consult the manual for instructions.
  • Can I use the Stream S2 Pro system in multiple meeting rooms that are next to or near each other?

Yes, each receiver has a unique ID. You can then connect the transmitters to the receiver installed in the relevant room, so that it does not interfere with receivers in adjacent or nearby rooms.
  • Is there a storage system available in which I can keep the transmitters in my meeting room?

Yes, you can use the Stream A1 Pro storage tray for this (available separately)
  • Can I connect multiple transmitters to the receiver at the same time, for example when I am meeting with several people who all need to be able to present?

Yes, the Stream S2 Pro supports up to a maximum of 20 transmitters. With one press of the button, you can easily switch between the different laptops.
  • The status-LED on the transmitter stick remains lit red

This means that the transmitter stick is receiving too little power. Not all HDMI ports provide sufficient power to power the stick. In those cases, you can use the included USB-C > HDMI adapter and connect the transmitter stick to the USB-C port. If no USB-C port is available, you can provide the transmitter stick with extra power by connecting the included micro-USB cable.
  • The status-LED on the transmitter stick keeps flashing red instead of blue.

This means that the transmitter stick cannot connect to the receiver, due to one of the following causes: 1. The receiver is OFF: switch on the display or projector and check whether the status-LED of the receiver is flashing blue. 2. The transmitter is not paired with the receiver: press and hold the button on the transmitter until the status-LED flashes quickly, the transmitter will then restart and automatically pair with the receiver.
  • I connected the transmitter to an HDMI port on my laptop, but it flashes purple and I cannot share my screen.

If the status-LED flashes purple, this means that it is not receiving a video signal from the laptop. Check the display settings of your laptop. In Windows 11, you do this by pressing the Windows logo key + P and selecting an option, or by right-clicking on the desktop and opening Display settings. Then set the display settings to "Duplicate" and it should work a few seconds later.
  • I connected the transmitter to a USB-C port on my laptop using the included USB-C > HDMI adapter, but it flashes purple and I cannot share my screen.

If the status-LED flashes purple, this means that it is not receiving a video signal from the laptop. In this case, it may be that your USB-C port does not support video. Not all USB-C ports support video output; for this, the USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbold 3. More information, and an overview of devices that support this, can be found on this website: https://en.everybodywiki.com/List_of_devices_with_video_output_over_USB-C
