Do you have a USB-C output-only laptop, smartphone or tablet, such as an iPad Pro, MacBook Pro or Chromebook, and would you like to connect devices with a different type of input to it?

That's really easy with one of our USB-C adapters. Play videos from a smartphone on a TV, expand your workplace with a second external monitor or connect your laptop to a projector. Anything is possible!

These USB-C adapters are small and compact, so they can be used both at home and on the go. The aluminum casing ensures that they can withstand rough handling.

What is USB-C?

USB Type-C, or USB-C, is a multi-purpose USB connector with a reversible plug and is the new standard for connecting and charging laptops, computers, tablets and smartphones.

This often means that your laptop no longer has an HDMI, VGA, Ethernet or DisplayPort output, and many of your devices only have a USB-C connection. If you want to connect these devices to devices with, for example, an HDMI or USB-A connection, a USB-C adapter is the solution!

How do you connect a USB-C adapter?

It's really very easy. You plug the USB-C connector of the adapter into the USB-C port of your laptop, tablet or smartphone, and then you plug, for example, the HDMI cable of your display into the other connector of the USB-C adapter. It's all plug & play!

Our range of USB-C adapters

We have several USB-C adapters in our range:

USB-C to HDMI

  • Connect a USB-C device to a TV, monitor or projector with an HDMI input.
  • Connect a MacBook or Chromebook to a display or beamer.
  • Connect a laptop (without HDMI) to a beamer with an HDMI input.
  • Expand your laptop with a second external display.
  • Connect an iPad to a TV or PC monitor with an HDMI input.

USB-C to USB-A

  • Transforms a USB-C port into a USB-A port.
  • Connect an external hard disk to your laptop.
  • Connect a keyboard to your tablet or iPad.*
  • Use your existing USB-A cables to charge a smartphone in a car with just a USB-C connection. *For this, your mobile device must support USB On-The-Go (USB OTG). Using USB OTG, you can connect external peripherals, such as a mouse, keyboard, printer, external storage or even a game controller, to a phone or tablet. There are special apps available (such as "USB OTG Checker” for Android) with which you can check whether your device supports USB OTG.

USB-C to DisplayPort

  • Connect a USB-C device to a TV, monitor or projector with DisplayPort input.
  • Connect a MacBook, Chromebook or laptop to a display or beamer with a DisplayPort input.
  • Expand your laptop with a second external display.
  • Connect an iPad to a presentation screen with a DisplayPort input.

USB-C to Ethernet

  • Connect a USB-C device to a cabled network (LAN).
  • Connect a MacBook, Chromebook or laptop without an Ethernet connection directly to a router or switch for a more stable, secure and fast connection.

USB-C to AUX

  • Connect a set of headphones to a USB-C device.
  • Connect earbuds with a 3.5 mm jack plug to a USB-C connection-only smartphone.
  • Connect a set of headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug to a USB-C connector-only iPad.
  • Improve the sound of your headphones by plugging them into the USB-C port on your phone, tablet or laptop instead of the standard 3.5 mm headphone output.

USB-C to VGA

  • Connect a USB-C device to a TV, monitor or projector with a VGA input.
  • Connect a MacBook, Chromebook or laptop to a beamer with a VGA input.
  • Connect an iPad to a presentation screen with a VGA input.

USB-C to DVI

  • Connect a USB-C device to a TV, monitor or projector with a DVI input.
  • Connect a MacBook, Chromebook or laptop to a beamer with a DVI input.
  • Connect an iPad to a presentation screen with a DVI input.

What is DP Alt mode?

If you want to connect a laptop with a USB-C connection to a monitor or projector with a traditional video port, such as HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA or DVI, both your USB-C adapter and your USB-C device must support “DP Alt mode”.

Obviously, our USB-C adapters support this protocol. Please check if the USB-C port of your laptop, smartphone or tablet supports “DP Alt Mode” by checking the technical specifications of your USB-C device. Or check whether the DisplayPort logo is displayed next to the USB-C connection.

What is Thunderbolt 3?

Thunderbolt 3 is a data transfer protocol and USB-C is the name for the connector on a laptop, smartphone or on a cable.

This fast version of a USB-C port supports, among others, HDMI, VGA, DVI, (mini) DisplayPort. The Thunderbolt 3 version ensures that data, audio and video are output at high speed (40 Gbps).

Even if a cable or device is equipped with USB-C, it doesn't necessarily mean it supports the Thunderbolt 3 protocol. Our USB-C to HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI adapters are Thunderbolt 3 compatible, but you can only use them if your USB-C device also supports Thunderbolt 3.

You can tell that a device supports Thunderbolt 3 by the lightning icon next to the USB-C connector. Devices with Thunderbolt 3 also automatically support DP Alt mode, making them suitable for connecting an external display or projector.
